One thing I love about prawns is that there’s just so much you can do with them! Grill them, sauté, barbecue or even make some delicious curry!
Today, I’ll be sharing with you guys a family favourite – Prawns masala curry. I can’t tell you how jealous I am as a vegetarian when I see this- it’s spicy, delicious and so aromatic!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 500 gm prawns (shelled and de-veined)
- 2 chopped onions
- 1 slit green Chilli
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 n 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp tamarind pulp
- 2 -3 tbs cooking oil
- Salt to taste
First, clean the prawns well: wash and devein. Next, marinate with some salt, turmeric, chili powder, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and some tamarind pulp.
Heat the oil in a thick bottomed pan. Add some chopped onions, left over ginger-garlic paste and some green chili. (Slit the chili in the centre) Sauté until the onions turn translucent and soft.
Add the marinated prawns to the pan and cook on high heat for 3-5 mins. Then, add some water. Stir on simmer for 5-8 mins. Adjust any seasonings if required.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with some hot chapatis!
