Scrumptious sabudana (Sago) Burgers with raw mango chutney

Sago patties stuffed with savoury spicy raw mango chutney.

Sago patty: sago mixed with mashed potatoes and coated with roasted crushed peanuts.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1) 1 cup Sago (150 gms)
2) 2 medium potatoes
3) 1/2cup roasted crushed peanuts
4) ½ tsp cumin
5) 1 to 2 green medium chilies chopped
6) 1/2” grated ginger mix all and pound together
7) 1 tsp sugar
8) Salt to taste

Recipe for Mango Chutney: 
1) Raw mango chutney
2) 3 tbs fresh coconut
3) 2 tbs chopped raw mango
4) 1/2 tsp cumin
5) 1 tbs coriander leaves
6) 2 green chillies
7) 1 tsp sugar
8) Salt to taste
Add 1-2 tsp water and grind all together. Grind coarse.

Soak the sago for an hour and then drain all the water. Keep it outside for 2-3 hours at least or overnight.unnamed-7unnamed-8

To begin, boil the potatoes. Peel and mash them. Mix the mashed potatoes and the soaked sabudana together.Add the peanuts, salt, sugar, cumin-ginger, green chili paste and mix the entire mixture together.



Making Sabudana Patty:
Now, take a portion of the mixture in your hands and shape them into flat round patties.


Shallow fry the patties (with a little ghee) on a grill pan until they become crispy and light brown in colour.


Spread the mango chutney on top and serve hot.
