To all my dearest readers who are celebrating Eid al Fitr, I wish you a very happy and blessed Eid Mubarak. May you be blessed with peace, joy and happiness.
Eid al Fitr is a special and memorable time where families and friends come together to celebrate or mark the end of ramadan. If you are looking for an easy recipe that is not only delicious but will also impress your guests- you have come to the right place!
Sheer Kurma is a rich vermicelli pudding which is traditionally prepared by muslims for Eid ul Fitr. The dish literally translates to ‘milk with dates’. It is sweet and creamy – a real treat when it comes to celebrating!
So, here is what you will need.
Ingredients
1. 2 tbs Ghee
2. 750 ml milk
3. 50 gms khoya
4. 1/2 cup sugar
5. 150 gms vermicelli
6. Dry fruits
7. 3-4 dates deseeded
8. 1 tbs crushed pistachio
9. 6-7 cashew nuts
10. 8-10 raisins
11. 1 tsp chironji
12. 8-10 saffron strands
13. 1-2 cloves
14. 1tsp cardamom powder
Method:
To begin, heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan. Add the slightly pounded cloves and sauté. Add dry fruits and sauté until they are slightly browned.
Add milk, khoya, chopped dates and cook for 10-12 mins until the vermicelli is softened. Next, add sugar, saffron, cardamom powder and stir well.
Cook for another 3-4 mins until it dries.
Transfer the sheer khurma to a bowl and garnish with dry fruits and serve warm.
Hope you enjoy!
